Christian Karagiannidis

Dr. Christian Karagiannidis is Head of the ARDS and ECMO center Cologne-Merheim and Professor of the University Witten-Herdecke. He is specialized in respiratory and critical care medicine and worked before in the University Hospital Regensburg. Dr. Karagiannidis main clinical expertise is treatment of severe lung failure of different origins. His main research areas are short and long-term CO₂removal, ARDS, Neurally Adjusted Ventilatory Assist and electrical impedance tomography (EIT). Dr. Karagiannidis is current member of the scientific committee of EURO-ELSO.
