Micheal is an expert in the field of extracorporeal technology. She has published book chapters in the ELSO ECMO Specialist Training Manual and the ELSO Red Book. She specializes in the education of professionals in the art of ECMO using simulation as well as traditional educational methods. She is also a founding Co-Chair of the ELSO Award of Excellence in Life Support. She is currently serving as a clinical expert on the ELSO Registry Committee. IN 2017, she was designated as a Fellow of the Extracorporeal Life Support Organization.
