Niklas Nielsen
Niklas Nielsen, MD, PhD, DEAA, EDIC, is a specialist in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care at Helsingborg Hospital, Sweden and associate professor at the Department of Clinical Sciences, Lund University, Sweden. His PhD was on Induced Hypothermia after Cardiac Arrest, organizing the Hypothermia Network Registry, now the International Cardiac Arrest Registry (INTCAR). The thesis led to the design and conduct of the international randomized trial Target Temperature Management 33°C versus 36°C after Cardiac Arrest, where Niklas Nielsen was the principal investigator and lead author. His current research interest is on various aspects of post-cardiac arrest care with focus on temperature management, trial methodology, trial conduct and follow-up. He is PI of the recently commenced TTM2-trial. He has current funding from the Swedish Heart and Lung Foundation, The Swedish Research Council, Regional research support, Region Skåne and Governmental funding of clinical research within the Swedish National Health Services.
