Antonio Pesenti

Full Professor of Anestesiology and Intensive Care at the University of Milan and Director of the Department of Anaesthesia and Critical Care at the Policlinico Hospital of Milan. He trained in Medicine at the University of Milan, where he also obtained his research fellowship for extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). Professor Pesenti’s research interests include lung mechanics and gas exchange in acute respiratory distress syndrome patients, respiratory failure therapy, extracorporeal support and chest imaging. Professor Pesenti has given over 750 invited lectures in national/international meetings and symposia and has authored over 250 publications.
