Margaret Farley
I work as the Lead Nurse for Extracorporeal Therapies in the 30 bed paediatric intensive care unit (PICU) at Birmingham Women and Children’s Hospital, UK. This role incorporates ECMO, renal replacement therapies (CRRT), plasma exchange and photopheresis for steroid resistant GVHD. In 2016 I was appointed as a clinical expert advisor to the NHS on the changing needs of children in PICU in England. I am also actively involved in the development of the delivery of both cardiac and respiratory paediatric ECMO in England. Since 2014 I have been the EuroELSO steering committee nurse representative a role I have greatly enjoyed and hope to continue my links with ELSO into the future through working with the ELSO scientific support communities.
