I worked as a pediatric cardiac anesthesiogist and intensivist in the FCV Hospital in Bucaramanga, Colombia since 2004. I led the development of our ECMO program in 2007 (60 to 80 cases per year).  In 2009 we organized the first Latin-American ECMO and VAD meeting and since then this yearly meeting brings together physicians form the most important Latin-American hospitals. We started our Centrimag pediatric and adult VAD program in 2010 doing around 6 to 8 cases per year. We started an air ECMO transport program in 2013 doing 10 to 12 fixed wing ECMO transport per year. This program brings patients from Colombia and from the Caribbean countries. In 2014 we implanted the first adult HM II in south-America. In 2017 we implanted the first HM III in South America.
