Doctor Nicolas Bréchot, MD, PhD is Doctor of Intensive Care Medicine at the University of Paris, Pierre et Marie Curie, and a senior intensivist in the ICU department at the “Institut de Cardiologie”, Hôpital Pitié-Salpêtrière, Paris, France.

• Care of the critically ill cardiac patient (cardiogenic shock, acute myocardial infarction, complicated heart surgery and heart transplantation)
• Inflammation disorders during severe aggression. Research thematic developed in partnership with the unit INSERM U1050. College de France, Paris
• Mechanical circulatory assistance and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation
• Rescue therapies for severe acute respiratory distress syndrome, including ECMO and ECCO₂R
• Severe infections in ICU patients
