Gareth Davies
Gareth has over 20 years experience in delivering critical care in the prehospital environment. He has a specialist interest in the prehospital phase of injury, traumatic and medical cardiac arrest, mechanism of injury, and major incident management. The service has a reputation for strong clinical governance and has introduced many innovative techniques & processes such as prehospital thoracotomy and REBOA. He has led the teams that responded to many of London’s major incidents, including the Paddington Rail Disaster, the 7th of July 2005 Bombings and the recent terrorist attacks in London, 2017. As innovation lead in Prehospital Care he and his Barts Health ECMO colleagues have been exploring the role of ECMO in trauma and prehospital care and developing a trial of prehospital ECMO in medical cardiac arrest.
