IVAN ORTEGA

Iván Ortega-Deballon is an Associate Professor at the University of Alcalá, Madrid (Spain) in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Nursing Department. He is also a Flight Nurse in Madrid HEMS. His research is the intersection between ECMO for organ preserving purpose and ECMO as a livesaving strategy to save selected patients after unexpected cardiac arrest. When refractory OHCA should be treated through ECPR and when patients should be considered medically hopeless giving then the option to become an organ donor as deceased donor. That is the main conundrum of his research interest.
